5/4/20 Daily Update

TODAY’S UPDATE

Montrose County Public Health has five new cases to report today (two positive cases from Sunday and three positive cases from Monday). Last week, public health tested the employees at one of the outbreak sites in order to stop COVID-19 transmission. The test results were returned and showed two additional positive cases. Public Health has completed contact tracing on one of the cases, and reassigned the other to the county of the person’s residence. Please continue to take precautions including wearing a mask in public, frequently washing your hands or using hand sanitizer, and stay home if you are ill.

Montrose Memorial Hospital is a safe place to receive care. The EOC is receiving reports of patients that are seeking care from providers that would otherwise need care from the hospital’s emergency department. Delaying routine screenings such as mammograms or colonoscopies could lead to missed or delayed findings that impact treatment options. Please continue to seek preventative care in order to stay healthy.

Please keep regular appointments with your primary care provider to keep chronic conditions under control. Most importantly, if you are sick please stay home, treat your symptoms, and call a doctor if your symptoms worsen.
