Today’s Data Notes
Public Health reports 18 positive confirmed cases (PCR) since Thursday, 8/6/20. As a reminder, here is the list of COVID-19 symptoms.
Drive Through Flu Clinic
Montrose County Public Health announced the seventh annual Drive Through Vaccination Clinic on Friday, Aug. 28. The clinic is usually held in October, but was moved up this year because the Event Center is unavailable (due to equine events) in September. Additionally, public health received the vaccine shipment early this year, so the decision was made to move up the event in order to offer this service to our community. Additional details regarding locations, times, and more will follow in Thursday’s report.
The county is working with the state to address the increase in cases. As a result of this, the county now uses the Ninth Amended Public Health Order for guidance. The order is very similar to the variance with two small differences in bars (that do not serve food) and gym operations (no more than 50 patrons in a room).
Colorado Mask Order
Effective July 16th, 2020, Governor Polis announced a statewide mask order for all Coloradans ages 11 and up when indoors.

- Stay home if sick.
- Maintain physical distancing to reduce person-to-person contacts and slow the spread of infection. As CDPHE states, “Creating distance between people slows community spread of COVID-19. Slowing the spread of COVID-19 will decrease the daily number of cases and hospitalizations that occur in Colorado”.
- If you cannot maintain distancing, then wear a face covering.
As CDPHE states, “The main reason to wear a non-medical mask is to protect others. Data show that some people may spread COVID-19 when they do not have symptoms. People may spread the disease when speaking, coughing or sneezing — especially in situations where a physical distance of six feet cannot be maintained”.
