Today’s Data Notes

Public Health reports a total of 327 positive (PCR) cases, which is an increase of two cases since our last report on 9/3/20. The number of positives cases is continuing to decline–thank you to the community for their support in fighting COVID-19.

 

Returning to One Report Per Week

Due to a recent decline in cases, Montrose County Public Health will be returning to one COVID-19 update per week. Montrose County Public Health will increase frequency of reports if a large increase in cases occurs.

 

If You Have Been Tested

If you have been tested for COVID-19, please quarantine for 14 days to avoid exposing others. Do NOT go to work or to the store sick. Contact the public health hotline at 970-252-4545 if you need assistance accessing resources due to loss of work or otherwise. Please continue to make good choices to keep our community healthy.

 

Stay home if sick

Maintain physical distancing to reduce person-to-person contacts and slow the spread of infection.As CDPHE states, “Creating distance between people slows community spread of COVID-19. Slowing the spread of COVID-19 will decrease the daily number of cases and hospitalizations that occur in Colorado”.
If you cannot maintain distancing, then wear a face covering.

As CDPHE states, “The main reason to wear a non-medical mask is to protect others. Data show that some people may spread COVID-19 when they do not have symptoms. People may spread the disease when speaking, coughing or sneezing — especially in situations where a physical distance of six feet cannot be maintained”.

 

Community Updates

City of Montrose, CO: All City offices are open with regular business hours including the Visitor Center. Masks are required in all city facilities.

Montrose Memorial Hospital: New Testing Hours: COVID testing with a Provider Order changed to 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m – Monday through Saturday.

The Montrose County School District (MCSD): School lunch and breakfast will be free for all school-aged students through the end of December. In-person students may pick up lunch as they traditionally would on campus. Online or Hybrid students may pick up pre-packaged meals at 8:30 AM Monday through Friday at either Olathe Elementary School or the School District Office parking lot. As a result of decreased demand, pick up sites will no longer be at schools, but at those two centralized locations (OES and D.O.) and students no longer need to pre-order meals online; simply arrive at one of those sites, note your student ID, and pick up food. Parents may also pick up their child’s meals and the student is not required to be present at pick-up.
